Last summer, we had the distinct honor of orchestrating Zoë and Joel’s unforgettable wedding weekend at Atlanta. The weekend began with a chic welcome party at the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel (a modern upscale gem in the bustling heart of Buckhead). This heartwarming prelude set the tone for what would be a weekend full of love, elegance, and unforgettable moments at their wedding at the Swan House at Atlanta History Center.
Zoë and Joel, who were a Spelman and Morehouse graduates, entrusted us with planning their Atlanta, Georgia, wedding from their Washington, DC, base. Whether our couples are in the DC Metropolitan area desiring a destination wedding weekend away or coming to DC from another bustling city, planning destination weddings are our specialty.
The first glimpse into this unforgettable wedding at the Swan House at Atlanta History Center was through the exquisite invitations by Ivory Isle Designs. These custom invitations were adorned with dusty blue letterpress and a stunning illustration of the Swan House on the envelope liner. These details effortlessly conveyed the elegance and charm of the upcoming celebration.
As Zoë and Joel prepared for their wedding, the air was alive with excitement. In rooms filled with laughter and love, Zoë radiated bridal elegance while her bridesmaids lent their support. Nearby, Joel and his groomsmen shared stories and jokes, a joyful camaraderie easing the morning’s anticipation. We love an idyllic wedding day morning!
The first look, a tender moment shared between Zoë and Joel outside the Atlanta Swan House, was nothing short of magical. This intimate exchange, set against the majestic backdrop of the Swan House, encapsulated the love and anticipation that filled the air.
After their heartfelt first look, Zoë and Joel took a serene stroll around the majestic Swan House, seizing the moment for an intimate photo session. Against the backdrop of the historic estate, each snapshot captured their love and the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings.
During a planning visit to Georgia, we mapped out a handful of stunning Atlanta wedding venues that would fit the aesthetic of what Zoë and Joel envisioned for their day. The Atlanta Swan House was the first stop on their tour, and as soon as we saw the architectural magnitude of the historic property’s fountains in person, our jaws instantly dropped. I knew instantly that it would be a quick afternoon after seeing the venue in person – no other venue I presented could compare. Zoë and Joel signed the contract as soon as we returned to DC.
On their wedding day, their ceremony was a true vision of garden chic elegance. The Swan House’s iconic fountains, which we lined with an array of blue and cream florals, created the most romantic ambiance and became a stunning detail that softened the grandeur of the concrete architecture.
Following their ceremony, Zoë and Joel, basking in their newlywed bliss, gathered with their bridal party to capture formal wedding photos. This moment was a joyful blend of elegance and celebration, as they posed together, commemorating their special day amidst the splendid setting of the Swan House.
Our vision for the decor was to create a harmonious blend of sophistication and style. We took great care in adorning the round tables with tall crystal vases, overflowing with luxurious blue and cream floral arrangements and dusty blue candles in clear taper holders. These centerpieces not only added a touch of grandeur but also seamlessly tied in with our color palette. For the long tables, we chose smaller, yet equally stunning, arrangements complemented by the same captivating blue taper candles, set in glass candle holders. This choice created an atmosphere of intimate elegance, with each flicker of candlelight enhancing the ambiance of the space.
To complete the look, we dressed the tables in pristine creams linens and accented each place setting with a dusty blue napkin that included personalized menus for each guest. This added a striking pop of color that was both eye-catching and tastefully understated. We think it perfectly matched the couple’s desire for a chic and sophisticated celebration!
Zoë and Joel’s unforgettable wedding at Atlanta Swan House was more than just a celebration. It truly was a symphony of love and meticulous planning. Every element, from the inviting welcome party (which we always recommend for a destination wedding!) to the stunning reception, was infused with their personality and our commitment to excellence.
