When I think of the Carnegie Institution of Science, two words come to mind: The Rotunda! Recently, Becky Hudson, the Building’s Operation & Special Events Assistant Manager, was kind enough to give me a venue tour of this gem in the city. Located in Dupont Circle, one would have no idea of what’s inside entering from the P Street entrance. But once inside Becky took me through a grand staircase and then low and behold…The Rotunda (cue the Jurassic Park music).

Seriously though, the room simply took my breath away. With it’s large Corinthian columns, a massive bronze door (which leads out onto the portico), and an elliptical side staircase typically used by a grand entrance from the bride, this is THE room to be married in. You simply have to see it for yourself!
