Brett + Matt were married on August 20, 2016 at Clarendon Ballroom
Brett + Matt were married on a warm mid-August day at Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington, Virginia. They began their day in DC at neighboring hotels The Willard and the JW Marriott before joining together for photos at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Although you can’t tell due to the exceptional photos from Birds of a Feather (who we’ve had the pleasure of working with before), that day peaked at 90 degrees plus! Originally they were scheduled to swing by the Georgetown Canal on their way to their venue, but because of the sweltering heat the option to preserve the bridal party’s hair + makeup was most important, so they headed in early to find relief at Clarendon’s Ballroom’s blasting AC.
For their ceremony the ballroom was transformed into a modern wedding affair with tall white, pink and luscious green arrangements from Love Blooms DC. Afterwards guests mingled along CB’s expansive bar. Their guests snacked on fun apps such as individual Chinese carryout out boxes filled with Red Chill Chicken and Fried Mac N Cheese bites, while sipping on the couple’s Signature Drinks: Brett’s Sparking Bride and Matt’s Old Fashioned. Guests were then invited back into the Ballroom for a complete room flip. A mixtures of rounds and a 30 person King’s Table in the center were covered in lush arrangements (high & low) and candles galore. The night ended with tunes from Bialek Music, a late night cookie bar, and a bubble send-off to end the night.
