This past year, we had the pleasure of orchestrating some truly magical celebrations at the Intercontinental Hotel at The Wharf in Washington DC. Christine and Trevor’s wedding was our third and final wedding of year at this stunning waterfront venue. We absolutely couldn’t wait to share the details with you all today! Getting Ready: A Morning Full of Excitement

First, this beautiful fall wedding began with Christine and Trevor getting ready with their closest friends and family in the hotel’s pristine bi-level Constellation Suite. The bridal suite was buzzing with laughter, anticipation, and the soft rustle of beautiful bridal slippers as Christine and her bridesmaids prepared for the day.

Christine had a touching first look with her dad that melted our hearts when we got the images back from their photographer! Meanwhile, Trevor and his groomsmen shared some great moments as they suited up, setting a relaxed and joyful tone for the day ahead.

A Heartfelt First Look

Christine and Trevor took advantage of one of their suite’s stunning balconies, on this gorgeous day with their first look. This private moment was filled with emotion, allowing them to share their excitement and calm each other’s nerves before the ceremony.

They also took this opportunity to snap some gorgeous portraits together, and with their bridal party and family. Many couples are opting to take these photos before the wedding ceremony and we are here for it! Ultimately, it just means that you get to enjoy more time with your guests during the cocktail party and reception. The photos from this session were absolutely breathtaking, capturing their genuine smiles and the stunning backdrop of the Intercontinental Washington DC.

The Ceremony (Where They Said “I Do” with a View)

Christine and Trevor’s ceremony was held at the one of the many event space’s at the Intercon with a view, featuring a balcony with panoramic views of the Potomac River, extending over Maryland and Virginia. With that as our backdrop, we created a breathtaking scene for Christine and Trevor, designing a stunning open-ended arch filled with lush white and blush blooms and trailing greenery. We lined the back of the aisles with elegant floral arrangements and a plush white velvet runner to anchor the design. Ultimately creating a STUNNING grand entrance for their guests and was absolutely breathtaking as they exchanged their vows.

Post-Ceremony Portraits Capturing Those Just Married Moments

After the ceremony, Christine and Trevor took a moment to capture more portraits together. These photos, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Potomac River and the sophisticated interiors of the Intercontinental Washington DC, perfectly encapsulated their newlywed bliss. It was a serene interlude before the evening’s festivities began, allowing them to enjoy each other’s company and the beauty of their surroundings.

A Breathtaking Fall Wedding Reception

We transformed The Waterfront Ballroom into an elegant reception space, blending high and low floral centerpieces that enhanced the vaulted ceilings. The tablescapes were a visual delight, featuring matte black chargers, gold details, and lush greenery to create a modern yet timeless look. The wedding band played under an all-black truss structure we designed with greenery and crystal chandeliers, while a striking 16-foot wide black bar, equally decorated with florals and greenery, serving as a focal point for the evening. Every detail was meticulously planned to ensure that Christine and Trevor’s wedding at the Intercontinental was nothing short of spectacular. 

A Special Highlight: Dad’s Musical Surprise

We love when our couples surprise and delight their guests! One of the evening’s standout moments was when Christine’s dad, a former band member, took the stage with a few of his old bandmates. They played a few songs, much to the delight of everyone in attendance. This surprise performance added an extra layer of fun and nostalgia to an already fantastic night, making it a highlight of Christine and Trevor’s fall wedding at the Intercontinental Washington DC.
