Balancing modern design with a warm and inviting atmosphere is kind of our specialty here at Simply Breathe Events. Elisa and Alex’ wedding at the Line Hotel was exceptional: with an elegant neutral color palette and personalized details (keep scrolling for the custom newspapers!). We were honored enough to have been the wedding planners for Alex’ sister’s wedding last summer, and we were beyond thrilled to be trusted with another wedding within the same family. Seriously – we LOVE when that happens! On top of that, here in DC, the Line Hotel is an incredibly popular wedding venue. We were delighted to be back and to make the space their own. Elisa was absolutely our favorite anti-bride! Against the unadventurous conventions, her bridesmaids donned stunning black midi length dresses; each perfectly tailored to embrace their unique personal style and body type. Their ensembles were nothing short of mesmerizing. We always adore a black and white color palette. Beyond the color palette, it’s the personal touches that make each wedding we plan truly unique and special. For Elise and Alex’s big day, we helped them bring their individuality to life with custom newspapers! As a journalist, Alex wanted to incorporate his love for news into the wedding, and we had a blast featuring their weekend activities and fun facts about the couple.
We also want to give an extra shout-out to their wedding photographer – Emily Gude Photography. We’ve worked with her for the first two weddings of 2023, and we are OBSESSED with the photos. We love Emily and Shea! As DC wedding planners, we are extremely selective about who we refer (because our couples deserve the best of the best!) and we can’t wait to work with them again for future weddings.
When searching for a wedding venue, we always encourage couples to think about the photo spots available. The Line Hotel, though, is a spot that stands out from the rest because of its picturesque and awe-inspiring atmosphere all around the property. Elisa and Alex had a heart-melting first look at the grand staircase. After, their wedding group portraits were captured on the elegant steps outside. While the Line Hotel may not feel overly “large”, there is no shortage of photo backdrops – that’s for sure!
The Jewish ceremony of Elisa and Alex was a dream come true at The Line’s gorgeous Carina venue! From the phenomenal Spanish-style terracotta flooring (we love the moody vibes), the space gave the perfect backdrop for their candlelit ceremony. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance!
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to an epic cocktail hour on the hotel’s Mezzanine level, adorned with breathtaking artwork and larger-than-life stained glass windows.
And here’s a fun fact for our avid readers – you might recognize this stunning event space from Nika and Andrew’s minimony! Trust us when we say, this is a place worth swooning over more than once.
You can never have enough candles! At Elisa and Alex’s wedding reception at The Line Hotel, we created a warm and inviting atmosphere with an abundance of white florals, lush greenery, and flickering candles. The soft illumination of candles added a touch of elegance as well as a romantic ambiance to the reception hall.
Finally, it was ready for guests to fill the dance floor and dance the night away. Elisa, dressed in her stunning BHLDN gown, had a “second look” after ditching her train, and then she joined the celebration to dance the night away with her friends and family. What an amazing way to wrap up a beautiful day! We couldn’t be more grateful to have been a part of it!
