This wasn’t our first wedding at Belle Mer, and we hope it won’t be the last! As destination wedding planners, we were thrilled to return to Rhode Island for Jessica and Jonathan’s breathtaking wedding at the exquisite Belle Mer. Jessica had discovered us through a past feature in BRIDES, where we had planned Anita and Carlton’s modern coastal wedding at Belle Mer. For Jessica and Jonathan, we designed a dreamy pastel watercolor palette and added a myriad of personal details to curate the most incredible wedding day. Bespoke luxury at it’s finest. Rhode Island Wedding Ceremony

Jessica and Jonathan’s wedding ceremony at Belle Mer was nothing short of magical (pictures below for proof!). Set on the edge of Narragansett Bay, Belle Mer is home to seven acres of stunning manicured lawns that surround you as you say your I Do’s so you feel like you are in a world of your own. When designing the wedding ceremony, we kept the florals classic and romantic, keeping to a white and blush color palette to not distract from the incredible views. It took our breath away!

Sporting the “just married” glow, it was time for Jessica and Jonathan’s wedding portraits. They took advantage of all the incredible backdrops found across the property. The hydrangeas were in FULL bloom *swoon*. We will be forever obsessed with the gorgeous landscape. The real highlight of their wedding portraits though? The fact that Jessica and Jonathan had so much FUN together.

Another thing we love lately? Uneven wedding parties! You and your fiance do NOT have to have the same amount of VIPs in your wedding party. In fact, it’s probably unlikely that you do in your real life. Choose YOUR nearest and dearest and don’t worry about having the “perfect” number.

Aw Shucks! An Elegant New England Wedding Reception at Belle Mer

Jonathan is an oyster farmer, so naturally, oysters had to make an appearance! Greeting guests as they arrived for their reception was a wave-inspired seating chart adorned with oysters from his own Oyster farm. When guests arrived at their table, they found oyster place cards with hand-calligraphy of their names as well. We LOVE a personalized touch for guests!

For the remainder of their elegant New England-inspired reception, we designed something classic, using watercolors to accentuate the true beauty of Rhode Island. With floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the reception space, the sparkling waters of Narragansett Bay made the perfect view (and setting for sunset photos).

A Sophisticated Design, But Make It Joyful!

Although we absolutely love obsessing over all the stunning details, what really fills up our cup as wedding planners is watching our couples truly enjoy themselves. Jessica and Jonathan have such joyful spirits, and there was a true celebratory feel in the air throughout the evening. As there should be! Halfway through the reception, Jessica changed into a sparkly sequin dress that wowed (we love an outfit change!), and the two of them danced the night away with their family and friends!
