Today, we are bringing you Maria and Vishal’s wedding at the Showroom DC, and get ready. This is a good one! While Maria and Vishal had originally saved the date for a wedding in early 2021, combining their larger-than-life guest list with ongoing potential pandemic restrictions forced us to make a difficult decision and postpone until 2022.
As though that wasn’t an obstacle enough for these sweet newlyweds, during the 2021 holiday season the wedding venue they had booked made the decision to cancel all booked weddings in 2022. If you are getting deja vu here, you might be remembering Libby and Peter’s wedding at National Portrait Gallery where the same thing happened! Fortunately, after a bit of wedding planning magic (and that’s WHY you need an experienced wedding planner on your team!), these two ended up hosting their beautiful wedding at the Showroom DC. Well worth the sweat and tears.
Can we skip to the good part?! Maria and Vishal’s reaction when they walked into their wedding reception at the Showroom DC was priceless. Way to fill our cup up after a busy wedding season!
First, let’s back up a little. Two days before their wedding at The Showroom DC, Maria and Vishal held their Sangeet at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. We naturally love a wedding weekend when our team can be involved in multiple events for our couples, and this was the perfect kick-off to their wedding weekend in DC. Not only was their Sangeet absolutely gorgeous (with a warm and vibrant color palette we instantly fell in love with during the design process), but there was so much joy in the room as friends and relatives all sang and danced to celebrate our bride and groom!
Can we also just have a moment for these incredible traditional Indian attire for Maria and Vishal?! We naturally couldn’t take our eyes off them all afternoon. We loved the delicate details and ornate jewelry that adorned them!
While the Sangeet kicked off the wedding weekend festivities, we couldn’t wait to meet again two days later for their wedding at The Showroom DC. For this one, Maria chose a rich emerald-green color palette which we enhanced with gorgeous gold accents throughout. Maria and Vishal got ready with their closest family and friends at the luxurious Hamilton Hotel in DC, before heading back to Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, for their wedding day ceremony.
The way that Maria and Vishal looked at one another across the aisle will be forever burned into our brains among our favorite memories! They really were the sweetest couple throughout the wedding planning process and we were absolutely overjoyed watching them exchange their vows at the altar. Once they were officially pronounced husband and wife, they both broke out into the biggest ear-to-ear smiles as they walked down the aisle together. Then – it was time for the party to begin! Champagne bottles were popped and the limo showed up to take them to their next destination!
Maria and Vishal’s wedding at the Showroom DC was brought to life with a rich color palette, lavish textures, and an abundance of gold accents in every detail. Looking back, there is just so much to love about this wedding at The Showroom DC. The floor-length velvet table linens, the grandiose greenery displays atop every reception table, the gold-rimmer chargers and flatware at every setting – the list goes on and on. If you are looking for details-obsessed wedding planners, we’ve got you.
As one of the many couples who were unfortunately forced to postpone their original plans, guests wasted no time partying accordingly! As DC and NYC wedding planners for almost a decade now, there is truly nothing as rewarding as seeing the smiles and laughter light up our couples (and their guests!) faces as they truly enjoy themselves as one of the weddings or events we have the honor of planning. Maria and Vishal’s family and friends were just as sweet as them, and the dance floor was packed all evening celebrating the newlyweds!
The best parties end with cake, and that’s how we want to finish off our blog. A stunner like this needed its own section. This wedding cake had everything: from an indulgent and dimensional emerald green finish to the gold foil accents and peach florals, we were wondering all evening if it tasted as good as it looked. Spoiler alert: it did!
