DC Wedding Inspiration
Does this wedding look familiar? You may have seen this Gilded Age-Inspired wedding featured on Brides recently! It’s always such an honor to be featured by such a major wedding publication and we were thrilled to see how much they loved this wedding day (and this incredible couple!) as much as we did.
Details Worthy of Royalty
From the moment we started working together, I connected deeply with Indhira and Jason’s vision. Jason gave Indhira complete creative control, and we worked together to create something memorable and majestic. As Indhira said, “The vision was old-world opulence with a twist of modern femininity. I wanted it to feel like a party we would host if we were the duke and duchess of the Bronx, in a post-Nas ‘Illmatic’ gilded age. I loved the idea of contrasting modern and vintage elements.” Essentially, she wanted to create a “Hip-Hop Bridgerton.” With torn paper wedding invitations, a jawdropping Pnina Tornai lace wedding gown, and a bouquet of long-stemmed white roses, these royalty-worthy details were just the beginning.
Speaking of details, we also love a groom in a custom suit! Jason kept it classic white a black tuxedo, designed by Suit Supply. Indhira gifted him the cufflinks!
An Intimate First Look Before their Wedding at Larz Anderson House
Couples are often surprised by how strong their emotions are during a first look, but we aren’t. It’s why we will always recommend a little touch up time between a first look and your wedding ceremony time. Indhira and Jason are best friends, and it shows. After the belly laughs and happy tears, we were ready for the wedding ceremony to begin!
While we couldn’t possibly choose a favorite detail from their wedding day, we did want to give special attention to Indhira’s custom veil with their wedding date and the inscription inside each of their wedding bands. It’s these small details that truly make a wedding day memorable for years to come.
Wedding Ceremony at Larz Anderson House
Originally, Indhira and Jason were planning a NYC wedding. However, once stepping foot into Larz Anderson House, they knew they had found the right wedding venue to bring their regal vision to life. Indhira had seen a previous wedding from Simply Breathe Events, where we had setup the wedding altar as a center stage between rows of ceremony chairs and knew that if she planned a wedding at Anderson House the setup would be similar.
For Indhira and Jason’s wedding at Larz Anderson House, we chose to keep the altar minimal, highlighting the couple among the opulence, with two floral arrangements and candles on each corner of their center platform. With a hand-torn ceremony program awaiting their arrival, guests started to take their seat. Once the ceremony began, it was all eyes on Indhira, as the grand staircase at Larz Anderson House made for an epic entrance for our bride-to-be.
Unique seating chart inspiration
We knew we wanted the seating chart to be something non-traditional, and we worked with an ultra-talented florist (The Rosy Posy) and calligrapher to create something that would be truly memorable for Indhira and Jason’s wedding guests. It gave them all a chance to stop and smell the roses! Embedded in a breathtaking floral display, guests would find their names and table numbers hand written inside the petals of a flower as they came down the grand staircase to dinner.
An Enchanting Garden Wedding at the Larz Anderson House
It goes without saying that we needed something truly spectacular to end this Gilded Age-inspired affair and the walled garden at Larz Anderson House was the perfect place to do it. Everything about Indhira and Jason’s wedding felt glamorous and romantic, but we wanted their wedding reception to also feel effortless. After all, what is the point of pretty if you can’t have fun? All of the details truly reflected Indhira and Jason’s attention to detail and love of a good time: from a mouthwatering menu to a show stopping wedding cake that could have been a sculpture, there was no detail overlooked. Everything was kept cohesive with a neutral wedding color palette and the candlelight only added to the ambiance.
This Wedding at The Anderson House was Iconic
With a glittery reception wedding dress inspired by Princess Diana herself, Indhira and Jason’s wedding finished with an epic sparkler exit suitable for the Duke and Duchess of Bronx themselves. Indhira and Jason were such a treasure to be around and their energy was contagious throughout the planning process and again on their wedding day. As their wedding planners, if we could relive this wedding day over and over again, we would. Here’s looking at you 2023!
