In the heart of Baltimore, amidst a sea of books and literary charm, Veronica and Peter tied the knot in what can only be described as a bibliophile’s dream wedding. The George Peabody Library, with its towering shelves, served as the perfect setting for this couple, who share a profound love for literature. Our team fondly refers to this venue as the “Beauty and the Beast Venue,” and it’s easy to see why. Stepping into this grand library, one can’t help but be swept away by the sheer scale and beauty! Clearly, a wedding at The Peabody Library is a dream come true, not just for Veronica and Peter but for anyone who cherishes the romance of books.
Their wedding at the Peabody Library began with a series of heartwarming and intimate moments. Understanding the balance between comfort and style (especially from her own experience as a bridesmaid), Veronica ensured that her bridal party felt both elegant and at ease. Each bridesmaid was given the freedom to select a dress within the chosen color palette! This was a decision that beautifully highlighted their individuality and complemented their unique body types. This thoughtful approach, which we enthusiastically endorse, not only enhanced the overall aesthetic of the wedding but also reflected Veronica and Peter’s considerate and inclusive nature.
The first look was a picture-perfect moment outside the iconic Peabody Library. The anticipation in the air was palpable as Veronica and Peter saw each other in their wedding attire for the first time. This magical moment set the tone for the day as their eyes met and emotions swelled. Surrounded by the historical grandeur of the library, the moment was perfect from every angle.
The ceremony itself, held within the walls of the Peabody Library, was nothing short of a fairytale. With the couple’s shared love for books, the venue’s literary grandeur provided a backdrop that resonated deeply with their story. We opted for simple yet elegant florals, in line with their color palette. Plus, we opted for a cream background that beautifully framed the couple during their nuptials, making sure they were the center of attention! We placed two large arrangements of orange and yellow flowers, and lush greenery stood majestically at the altar.
After the vows were exchanged and the applause echoed through the halls of the Peabody Library, the newlyweds and their wedding party ventured out for a formal portrait session. This was a time for capturing the joy and elegance of the day in stunning, timeless photographs orchestrated perfectly by the incredible Elizabeth Austin Photography. With the library’s architectural grandeur as their backdrop, it truly was the most incredible setting to soak up that “just married” bliss.
Following the ceremony, we got to work transforming the library into a vibrant, flower-filled space. The pops of orange and yellow kept the summer theme alive and inviting. We opted to reuse the large floral arrangements from the ceremony at the entrance doors, a decision that was not only sustainable but also a splendid way to maintain thematic consistency. Plus, each table was adorned with stunning floral arrangements in varying styles of white vases, while gold holders elevated elegant candlesticks, adding a warm, romantic glow.
In keeping with the library theme, we also created a unique library card escort wall. It was here that guests found their seating assignments on personalized library cards detailed with the couple’s wedding information. Moreover, Veronica & Peter thoughtfully selected books for their guests to peruse and take home as a parting gift. This gesture truly embodied their love for literature and their guests!
Ultimately, Veronica and Peter’s wedding at The Peabody Library was not just a celebration of their union, but a heartwarming showcase of their individuality and shared passions. While we love a beautiful wedding, we want to design weddings that are joyful and personal too. Their love story and deep affection for literature were woven into every aspect of their special day.
As wedding planners, we revel in seeing our couples infuse their weddings with elements that are quintessentially ‘them’. Bringing Veronica and Peter’s distinctive vision to life in the illustrious Peabody Library was a true pleasure. We’re overjoyed to have played a role in their extraordinary beginning.
