As primarily DC and NYC wedding planners, we might only get up to Baltimore to plan weddings & events once or twice a year but when we do, it’s always a treat. Especially when our couples are as wonderful to work with as Lauren and Charlie. On top of planning this modern industrial wedding at the Winslow Room in Baltimore, Lauren & Charlie reached out to us from LA so a majority of their wedding planning for this couple was done over the phone and scheduled zoom calls.
Of the trips that Lauren and Charlie made back home to the east coast throughout the planning process, we always made sure to maximize our time with them when they were here (scheduling venue tours, tastings, and vendor meetings, etc.). They’re one of our many couples who plan a DC wedding from afar, so we can’t advocate enough how great it is to have a hands-on team on the ground, and so grateful when couples trust us to fill that role.
While we never shy away from color, we kept the design monochromatic for Lauren and Charlie’s attire, stationery, and florals. Black and white wedding details will always be a vibe (if you need a little extra inspiration, head here). Lauren took Charlie’s breath away when he saw her in her modern satin wedding gown, designed by Chosen by Kyha. Her wedding party was also stunning in long black bridesmaid dresses. Now there’s a “trend” that will always feel timeless!
We adore the industrial aesthetic at the Winslow Room. The brick wall was a stark contrast against the two floral pillars that anchored the space where Lauren and Charlie exchanged their vows. It was white roses and greenery galore. Those smiles at the end of their recessional just hit us right in the feels! That “just married” joy will get you every time.
We have been known to get a little crazy over the details over here but it’s worth it every single time. the menu cards brought back memories of their wedding invitations with the metallic arch motif, and we created a similar half-moon shape with delicately tied napkins at every place setting. Despite being an indoor wedding venue, the string lighting inside was such a mood. Black taper candles added just a touch of drama to the design, while white roses and greenery were Lauren and Charlie’s floral centerpieces of choice. Everything came together flawlessly (we triple-checked!).
During their wedding reception, the rain cleared and Lauren and Charlie snuck out to the rooftop of the Winslow Room for a few sunset photos. I don’t know about sailors, but I can tell you that tonight the pink sky was a DELIGHT. The newlyweds enjoyed a few moments of bliss between just the two of them before heading into their Winslow Room reception to dance.
We know we aren’t alone when we say that your wedding shouldn’t only be aesthetically stunning, but also a really really good time. While we love watching our hard work designing your wedding come together, nothing fills our spirits more than watching our couples (and their guests) fill the dance floor. Preferably with big smiles and a signature cocktail in hand. While this wedding was planned during the tail end of COVID (there were definitely a few extra hurdles before the finish line!), it was so rewarding for us to watch it all come together. I think you’ll see from the photos: it was ALL worth it. We couldn’t be happier!
