February is no longer just the month of hearts and cupids among couples! Now ladies are bringing a new twist to this love filled month and celebrating their bestest gal pals by introducing Galentine’s Day and we’re loving it! So much in fact, that the ladies and I of Simply Breathe Events decided this year to pay homage to our best friends (both personal & industry!) and the best genre of music to date – 90’s pop! Hopefully taking them back to a much simpler time – *NSYNC vs Backstreet Boys of course!

This concept first evolved over my love of 90’s pop music – don’t judge me! With being a DC Wedding Planner, sometimes venues are far out and you have to drive countless hours to get to and from an event. During the night drives, it seems as though these tunes always put me in a good mood, and whenever I’d have a passenger we’d both catch ourselves belting our hearts out. It was always a good time! That’s what we wanted to emphasize at this event. We wanted ladies to come in, grab a drink, and have a ball with their besties! And when you take a look at the photos from our event, I’m sure you’ll see that’s exactly what happened!

Upon arrival, ladies were able to stop at our check-in stations to lose their coats, and grab custom heart rings we made from Studio DIY! Such a labor of love but they were an absolute hit! The ladies were also entered into our raffle prizes including this box shown above, which was filled with a few Sephora masks, a Lush bath bomb and a candle to help one lucky lady relax in style. Our friend Lisa from Petals & Promises also provided these gorgeous arrangements filled with bright and moody florals that were scattered around the venue!

One of our hit stations was provided by Picturesque! Here ladies were able to have false lashes applied and the option to purchase one of their signature “Eyes Only” services! Perfect for all of our attendees to get dolled up before a night on the town.

Our food was provided by Relish Catering – yum! Lots of yummy snacks for girls to choose from like Maine Lobster Salad spoons garnished with champagne gelee and pickled strawberries, and Smoked Salmon Napolean bites, which were heart-shaped with lemon creme fraiche and dill. Everything was so delish!

They also helped us execute our signature Champagne Bar! What’s a Galentine’s Day Party without champagne? The ladies were able to pick and choose there own garnishes such as flavored sugar cubes, candied ginger, and boysenberry syrups. P.S. all of our fun signage was by Creations by Sasha!

As for our sweets table – we couldn’t keep this thing stocked fast enough! From our centerpiece cake and heart shaped macarons from Buttercream Bakeshop to our Galentine’s Day cookies from Sugar Studio decked with fun sayings like “Bae Mine” and “Squad Goals”, the setup was perfect for the evening!

To say that we had a blast for this Galentine’s Day event, would be an understatement! Thank you again to our amazing vendor team and everyone that came out to our very first Galentine’s Day Event! Such an unbelievably fun night! We can’t wait to start planning for next year 🙂
